I spent 4 days travelling Morocco in November 2006.

Morocco did not fail to live up to my expectations. Spices, colours and bedlum were all part of the Marrakech experience whereas laid back hippies and brick a brac stalls could be found at the port town of Essaouria.

For those travelling to Marrakech I would recommend staying at a Riad, which is basically a guesthouse with original features (including a terrace and central courtyard). I stayed at the Riad dar mamouna, which was located very near the Medina.

One thing to remember when taking photographs in a Muslim country ... ASK PERMISSION! I was almost lynched by a gaggle of angry looking women.
