The population of India varied according to the area I visited. As I only went to two states in India I should not generalise however on the whole the people were particularly welcoming and friendly. Indeed I found that many of the people I met were contempt with their lives which from a Westerner’s perspective looked extremely basic.

The photos I took of people around India varied from ‘candid and natural shots’ to posed portraiture. Unlike many other countries I have visited the locals wanted (and encouraged) me to take their photos (especially in the market towns).

I tried to put together a snap shot of the people of India from vendors and snake charmers to street kids and taxi drivers. Overall I am happy with the photos I took of the people of India, hope you enjoy them too.
